Mother to all Children of the Craft

Hello! I'm Erin Green, an illustrator and art instructor from Vancouver BC who has been teaching art for 15 years to students of all ages. I strongly believe that making art is making magic and that everyone has the right to feel safe when being creative. I am dedicated to helping people tap into their inner artist through play and exploration.
My teaching practice started in 2008, after graduating from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a Bachelors of Design. My good friend Calla Power and I started a program called, "Early Works." We designed our own curriculum which we taught at Riley Park Community Centre. Our classes covered colour theory, painting, illustration, and drawing.
When Calla left to pursue her career in Expressive Arts Therapy, I continued teaching at Sunset and Thompson Community Centres where I taught new classes in watercolour, collage, and multi-media.
In 2013 I began teaching from my home studio and Children of the Craft was born! My practice focused on sessional programs for kids ages 7-12, workshops for adults, and private lessons.
In 2015 I was hired by Arts Umbrella to teach architecture, drawing and painting to students ages 6-13.
In 2018 I started instructing Introductory and Commercial Illustration at Emily Carr University of Art + Design where I continue to teach adult students.
I have also taught as a guest instructor for the Vancouver Opera, Collage Collage, the Illuminated Elephant, Homma Elementary, Crofton House School, and Stratford Hall.
I am currently teaching cat-life drawing and watercolour classes at the Catfe Vancouver and Bunny Cafe.
